U.S. losing tech lead, lobby warns

Click here for the article. I've been saying this for quite a number of years now. The USA is severely lagging in the math and sciences at the K-12 level when compared to other countries. We are all going to pay the price if something doesn't change soon. Occasionally, I contemplate joining some task force that is dedicated to working on CS curriculum for high schools, but ACM and IEEE both have some pretty good initiatives out there. Regardless, in my opinion, this is a bigger issue than outsourcing tech jobs. I've been wondering over the past year or so whether outsourcing is just a symptom. Perhaps some would consider this to be one of the root causes of outsourcing. Then again, perhaps not, but this should certainly be considered as one of the cures.
